Hello folks we are back into yet another year of hustling where everyone wants to make a get way, in this economic crunch.

Few businesses that survived last year may still be struggling to gain their feet this year while others are at the edge of either restructuring or close down. This has resulted to cases of retrenchment in different sectors of the economy ranging from multinational companies to private businesses all in the name of downsizing the organisation. At the other hand unemployment rate has skyrocketed to a higher digit leaving fear in the minds of many especially graduates of various higher institutions even secondary school leavers. Anyway, the good news is that there are many things one can engage him/herself in and leverage on them to make some little cash, that we will be discussing. Whether you are in a job presently but not earning enough to cover your bills or you are unemployed the following can be of great help.
Get Out of Debt
The first step in making more money is to stop wasting the money that you currently earn or have. This means you must draw a line on debt. In this case, if you are not experienced enough try to consult a financial advisor if possible, to help you out. You need to set up a monthly spending plan, in which you know what your main priorities are and do away with extravagant spending. If you use credit card, try to put it aside for now to avoid the temptation of going into deeper debt. Track how much you spend over a period of three months and formulate a budget. Foresee your regular expenses for the following month and set limits on spending. Move extra cash into your savings account and use it for any irregular monthly expenses. If you're so deep into debt that you can't even breathe, then you may need help. Talk with your creditors directly to work out a modified payment plan. But you must stop debt spending.
Free Money Making Ideas
The second thing to do is write down your financial goals. What is it that you need the extra money for? Be specific. Write the reasons down. Then visualize them. And keep that vision right in front of you at all times. Start working toward that vision.
Sell Some Stuff
Over the years, you might have acquired some properties that were in fashion, but right now you feel is obsolete then its time to exchange them for money. Just go through your house, attic, garage, etc. and pick out EVERYTHING that you are willing to part with. You can tell your neighbours on what you want to sell as well as contact some people that deal with second-hand articles and sell those things to them. For instance stuffs like old exercise books can be sold to organisations that re-circle them, old clothes, shoes , furniture and for those that are no more making babies your baby belongings. It will amaze you how much you can make from these things that have been occupying spaces unnecessarily for you in the house.
Take up a menial job
Depending on your level if you are in the category of secondary school leavers, taking up a vendor job wouldn't be a bad idea. That is, you sell Newspapers for any media house and they will give you commission at the end of the day. One can also run some errands in the neighbourhood like doing a day housekeeper and in the evening, you go home with your pay.
What can you do
There are many things one can do without necessarily acquiring special skill for them, it is all about you finding out what you can do and take advantage of it. Turn your talents into cash. If you can play an instrument, teach lessons or play at events. If you have a teaching degree or expertise in a specific subject area, offer tutoring Consider these:
(a) Are you willing or able to become a clown, balloon artist, juggler, or performer? If so, you could entertain at kids' birthday parties, church events, etc. or offer your services as a birthday delivery person. All you need to do is to keep your eyes open to know where it is happening, and you can also tell your neighbours and friends about your new skill just in case if they have someone for you or know somebody that wishes to hold one.
(b) Can you teach? If you know that, you have the capability of impacting knowledge in people then don't think twice to take up tutoring. You do not necessarily need a special classroom for it, all that is required is allow people around you to know that you can offer such service. There are parents that need personal teacher for their kids, find such in your neighbourhood. Also you can coach secondary school students who are preparing for WAEC or any external examination. Know that taking up teaching job is not too easy especially if it involves little kids. It involves you been tolerant and patient to put up with them. Do not charge too much initially, or else there wouldn't be enough patronage. Start small and be committed with time when you are widely known then you can add a little to you charge.
(c) Do you have an experience in catering? Let people around you know what you can offer. Start baking chin-chin, cookies and other little confectionaries that wouldn't cost you  much and sell. You can liaise with a school be it primary or secondary or even an  organisation and be selling to them. On the other hand, with enough cash and high quality  product, you can contact some sellers of such items and be their supplier selling to them at a  discount rate.
(d) Are you computer literate, then consider learning internet marketing or web hosting. Once you get the idea, you can start doing it for other people for payments
Work extra time
Depending on the type of organisation one is working, you can go for extra time. Ask your employer if there is anything you can do to make some extra money. Maybe there are some extra duties you could do or an additional project.
Be creative
Get creative and you'll come up with a way to make some extra money. There is nobody in life that doesn't have something to offer even if you are not educated. The problem many have is that they are lazy and do not want to stress themselves, but the truth remains that without extra effort no extra cash. Sit down, get busy with your brain and find out what you can offer.
Remember the more money you make, the faster you can get out of debt, build up your savings, and reach your financial goals.
